Airbus Helicopters has been China’s number one helicopter partner for more than 40 years. This long relationship began in 1967 with the sale of the Alouette III, followed by several cooperation agreements for the AS365 Dauphin, H120 Colibri and H175/AC352 helicopters.

Airbus in Hong Kong

Airbus' relationship with Hong Kong dates back to October 1989, when Cathay Pacific Airways placed its first order for the A330-300. This was the beginning of a successful partnership that has seen Hong Kong grow to become one of the most important markets for Airbus in the Asia-Pacific region, with airlines in the territory having ordered nearly 200 of its aircraft.

Airbus and Airbus Helicopters in Indonesia

The relationship between Airbus and Indonesia dates back to February 1979, when Garuda Indonesia placed an order for nine of the original Airbus A300B4s – the world's first widebody twin-engine aircraft.

An Airbus Helicopters customer centre was established in 2008 to provide in-country support for government and civil customers in Indonesia. It has been the only OEM maintenance centre in Indonesia since 1976.

Airbus and Airbus Helicopters in South Korea

The Airbus relationship with South Korea dates back to 1974, when Korean Air became the first airline from outside Europe to place an order with the company, for the original Airbus A300B4. Since then, South Korean airlines have ordered 181 of its aircraft, making the country one of Airbus’ key customer bases in the Asia-Pacific region.

Airbus Helicopters Korea (AHK) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus Helicopters in Korea. The AHK Sacheon office made a robust contribution to the successful development of the KUH Surion helicopter by supporting a close cooperation between Airbus Helicopters and KAI (Korea Aerospace Industries) from 2006 to 2012. Following a further contract in 2015, AHK has also been supporting the LAH/LCH programme in order to continue the success of the KUH program.

Airbus in Taiwan

Airbus’ relationship with Taiwan dates back to July 1980, when China Airlines placed an initial order for the A300, the world's first widebody twin-jet airliner. With the efficiency of the A300 contributing to the success of its regional route network, China Airlines subsequently expanded its fleet with additional aircraft, including the A300-600.

Airbus in Vietnam

The Airbus relationship with Vietnam dates back to 1991 with the operation of A310 aircraft on behalf of Vietnam Airlines by Singapore-based Regionair. This was followed at the end of 1993 by the arrival of the first of seven 150-seat A320s, operated under a wet lease agreement with Air France.
